Lift Station Services

A lift station is a critical part of a sewer line, designed to keep wastewater (such as from storms) flowing off your property and into the municipal sewer systems. Any disruption in the system can seriously impact both your health and the public’s health; that’s why Cortez Liquid Waste Services is on hand to quickly and efficiently get your lift station drained.

Professional Septic Services

Staying connected

When on route, the septic service driver will give a courtesy phone call to the client to ensure availability and meeting of the scheduled appointment. At this time the client can give specific directions (if necessary) regarding the location and any other information needed.

  • Once on-site the client must meet the driver to sign the Septic Service Agreement and provide payment if this hasn't been processed by office personnel.
  • Then, the client is to show the driver the location of the septic needing service.

septic lid exposure

We ask that our clients already have their septic lids exposed by the time of service. If the lids are not exposed, we will be unable to perform septic scheduled services. If you are needing help locating the septic itself or the lids, we typically recommend following the sewer line from the house to the cleanout plug (about 3" above the ground) and further down to the septic.

  • Once the lids are exposed, the driver will ask the client to remove the lids themselves. Its done to prevent our driver from damaging any tricky or irregular lids.
  • If the lids are already exposed and removed by the client, the driver will then proceed to the service of the septic.

Conventional Septic services

The septic systems are typically 500-1000 gallons, with 1-2 lids. This may vary from system to system.

  • The client is required to stay on site during the service duration to ensure proper rendering and safety.
  • Depending if there is a divider for the septic, the driver will pump the side of the tank with the waste first and then continue to empty the entire tank.

flushing your septic system

Pumping the waste may require water to be pumped into the system first to soften the waste.

  • After pumping, the driver will ask the client to check inside the tank to see that it is empty.
  • The client will then be asked to go inside the residence home and flush the toilet.
  • When the client returns, the driver will show that water from the requested flush has filtered into the system.

clogs in your septic line

If the water does not filter into the system for any reason, this may indicate a clog in the line. Although, tending to this problem is not within the service we offer, the driver may attempt to help at their discretion. The driver may inform the client to call their septic maintenance provider.

  • The water flushed into the tank will then be pumped out, leaving the tank empty once again.
  • The driver will then place the lid(s) back on the septic tank to complete the service.
